Counseling and mental health services at Family & Children's Service are considered one of the primary mental health resources for children, youth, adults, and families in Tompkins County. As an outpatient clinic facility licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, our clinical practice is monitored and reviewed on a regular basis.
Trained and experienced mental health professionals provide confidential individual, couple, and family counseling using a variety of modalities and methods. Services include:

Fees for service are reimbursable through Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance. Thanks to our United Way support and private donations, we are able to base the personal fee for our services on a flexible scale according to household income.
Community involvement continues to be one of the cornerstones of our clinical program. In an effort to provide better coordination in service delivery to families and improved linkages between service providers, we have maintained ongoing contact with many human service agencies, school personnel, and the legal community. Such efforts help maximize the effectiveness of our clinical work
