Student Counseling Services

To schedule an appointment, please call (607) 273-7494 and ask to speak to someone in the intake office.

Family and Children’s Service is committed to helping students meet the challenges of life during college, graduate and professional school by encouraging healthy personal choices and balanced perspectives.  We maintain strong working relationships with Counselling and Psychological Services at Cornell University as well as Ithaca College’s Counseling and Wellness Center.

Students seek counseling and psychological services for a wide variety of reasons, including depression and anxiety; life crises; identity issues; relationship concerns; difficulty with loss or other life transitions; sexual choices and concerns; problems related to alcohol or drug use, as well as many other issues of concern. We treat each student with sensitivity, providing therapy that values diversity and respects the individual.

Fees for service

Fees for service are reimbursable through Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance.  This practice serves all patients regardless of inability to pay.  Discounts for essential services are offered based on family size and income.  We do so through generous support from the United Way support and private individual and corporate donations.

Location and Hours of Operation

Family & Children’s Service is located at 127 West State Street in downtown Ithaca. We offer morning, afternoon, and evening hours Monday through Friday.
